SIVAL de Bronze: PROXALYS Environnement presents AVISTOP Détect

Description

AVISTOP Détect' revolutionizes crop protection against bird damage by integrating cutting-edge technologies for intelligent, sustainable agriculture.

Bird damage to crops is a frequent occurrence, causing significant economic losses for farmers.

AVISTOP Détect' revolutionizes crop protection against bird damage by integrating cutting-edge technologies for intelligent, sustainable agriculture.

Bird damage to crops is a frequent occurrence, causing significant economic losses for farmers.

To protect their crops, farmers use bird-scaring devices. These devices regularly scare away birds by detonation, visual effects or distress calls. But repeated use of these devices inevitably leads to birds becoming accustomed to them. Protective measures then become ineffective. In addition to the loss of effectiveness, the repeated triggering of these devices, even when no birds are present, causes annoyance for the neighborhood.
Compatible with all bird-scaring devices on the market, AVISTOP Détect' integrates easily with existing equipment on the farm.

AVISTOP Détect' uses a high-definition camera coupled with an artificial intelligence algorithm to accurately detect the presence of birds in fields. This cutting-edge technology analyzes captured images in real time, enabling detection over an area of almost 12 hectares.

The AVISTOP Détect' is mounted on a tripod and features a rotating head housing a high-definition camera. The camera head rotates to take 360° shots, analyzing the entire plot. The camera's precision enables it to detect the presence of birds within a radius of around 200m, representing an area of almost 12 ha.
The benefits are
- Reduced habituation of birds to current scaring systems, and therefore greater efficiency. The AVISTOP Détect' will only scare birds if they are present in the plot. This will improve the effectiveness of scaring systems over time, by reducing habituation and thus significantly reducing economic losses caused by bird damage.
- Continuous improvement in detection through Machine Learning. The artificial intelligence of AVISTOP Détect' works with a neural network that has learned to detect birds, and will be further improved by the continuous acquisition of new images in the field.
- A significant reduction in noise pollution. Current systems are audible (detonations or cries) and operate continuously, whether birds are present or not. AVISTOP Détect' will only trigger scares when birds are present, greatly reducing the noise nuisance caused.
- AVISTOP Détect' is adaptable to all bird scaring devices on the market. The AVISTOP Détect' can be interfaced upstream of the flushometer, but the farmer doesn't need to change his equipment, which results in significant economic (no need to buy a new flushometer) and environmental (no need to scrap existing equipment) benefits.
- Reduced energy consumption, particularly gas for the bird-scaring cannons, but also electricity, as the device is equipped with a solar panel.
- Advanced connectivity: As an option, the device can be fitted with a communication card enabling :
o Real-time smartphone alerts
o Data collection for precise traceability
o Long-term monitoring of bird presence
o Integrated GPS geolocation option offers protection against theft, with instant alerts in the event of unauthorized movement of the device.

An innovative collaboration between two small businesses in western France:
In western France, a fruitful partnership between two innovative small businesses has given rise to a cutting-edge technological solution for protecting crops against bird damage. PROXALYS Environnement, which specializes in the design and marketing of AVISTOP bird scaring devices, and DnR'Sys, an electronics design office located north of Rennes, joined forces over a three-year period to develop a product that will revolutionize bird scaring to reduce damage to crops.

A synergy of skills :
o Expertise in environmental management: Based in Thorigné-Fouillard near Rennes, PROXALYS Environnement, with its knowledge and experience in the field of bird-scaring solutions, contributed its expertise to establish precise specifications and validate the results obtained.
o Technological know-how: DNRSys, for its part, drew on its expertise in electronics to design the on-board technology. The result is a product that combines innovation and efficiency.
o The result of close collaboration :
The fruit of this partnership is the AVISTOP Détect', a new-generation bird deterrent. PROXALYS Environnement defined the precise specifications, while DNRSys developed the integrated technology, based on the use of artificial intelligence, in the casing. This synergy between two Breton VSEs is a perfect illustration of the potential for innovation that can emerge from local collaboration and the dynamism of VSEs.
